6th Spanish - Mrs. Desir / Ms. Klein

Course Description

All worksheets that are distributed and worked on in Spanish class are expected to be worked on in class.  At the end of the period, the students turn in their work to be checked (and any other handouts distributed in class) to their Spanish class folder, which remains in the classroom - or - to the teacher if she collects the class work instead. The students are expected to stay on task and to be productive with the time allotted in class to complete class work.  In the case of an absence from class, the student may print out the worksheet available here and turn that in when he/she returns to class. The worksheets available here serve also to help students study outside of class. The student can also ask the teacher for make up after his or her return to school.

**Only in 2 cases are the students assigned homework: 1. The Work Habits and Behavior Criteria for Sub-Grades in Spanish contract that is due signed and dated by the student and the parent or guardian by the 2nd week of class; and 2. The Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Ofrenda Shoebox Project which is assigned the end of September.**

Speaking assignments are assessed by effort and how directions were followed.  Class quizzes cover the same exact material covered in previous classes.  They are independent work but open class folder.  The are given a few minutes before the quiz to review the work they have done in their class folder, and they may use their folder on the quiz.  With good behavior and good work habits, the students (whether they're just beginning or more advanced) can succeed in this course and have fun learning Spanish!
